This is a new family we just met in Canelos, Sr. Domingo, and his wife, Laura (who speaks no Spanish, only Kichwa)
and their grandaughter, Milagro. We went to their home recently for our first visit there. They were so happy to see us
and so grateful for the food we brought them, and that we took the time to visit and pray with them.
This is the road in Canelos that we walk to Sr. Domingo's house.
We then take this trail to get to Sr. Domingo's house.
This is the bridge we have to cross to go to Sr. Domingo and Sra. Laura's home.
This is the home of Sr. Domingo. The front thatched roof building is the "kitchen". It has a dirt floor and
there's no stove or no grill. They cook over a fire on the ground and place their large cooking pots on the
logs that are burning to prepare a meal.
This is the sleeping area of Sr. Domingo's home. They have no indoor bathroom, so they bathe in the
river behind their home.
