When we arrived in Talin last week, we found Sis.Gladis and Bro. Manuel working hard that day! They
were cutting balsa wood in the jungle and hauling it to the road with their horses. This is very hard physical
labour for both, as the horse can only carry 1 log at a time, and then must walk 30 minutes up the trail, through
the river, to get to the road. When we arrived, they'd already made 6 trips that morning with the horses to the
road, and still had as many more to make that afternoon. After a 12 hour day, they go home and sleep on beds
of plywood, as they have no mattresses on them. As Bro. Manuel said, "Esta es la vida del campo (This is the life of the jungle)".

The children always enjoy coloring, so we make sure we bring them something to paint (as they say here).
