This is the bridge we have to walk across to go to the community of BellaVista.

The bridge to the jungle community of BellaVista.

The condition of the bridge has gotten worse, and now is too dangerous for us to continue to cross.

Some of our friends in BellaVista told us that 2 young men actually fell through the bridge
and another man lost some of the food that he'd just traveled all the way to Puyo to buy
for his family. They desperately needed the food, so he jumped in the river and swam after
it, trying to retrieve it, but wasn't able to do so.

Since the bridge is too dangerous for us to cross, we now cross through this river to
get to the community. On this day, the river wasn't very deep (only up to our thighs at
the deepest point). But it rains almost every day in the rainforest, and the rivers rise very
quickly, so we have crossed this river before when it was waist deep.
