Saira

Saira lives in the community of Encañada with her mother and 4 siblings. Her home is a small 10ft x12ft one room shack. They have no running water, it must be carried from a river 1/4 mile away. They have no restroom. What little food they can raise is cooked over an open fire.

Saira attends our church in Puyupungo. In tattered clothes and uncombed hair, she anxiously awaits the sound of our truck coming down the dirt road. As we come into view, shouts of joy and excitement are let loose, because on this day she gets to go to church!
