Willing to Leave it all Behind

At church in Talin today, the message the Lord gave me to preach was about brothers who, when Jesus passed by and called them, left everything to go and follow Him. The question is: How many are willing to give it all up, to leave behind everything, if so be necessary, to follow the Lord? Answer is: Very few. Thus the Scripture, “…..The Harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” (Matthew 9:37)

Will you be the one? Will you leave it all behind, give it all up? Are you willing to follow Jesus and live an amazing life? A life of adventure and peace and joy unspeakable and full of glory? Will you follow the Lord? Someone once told me, “Susan you are the queen of leaving it all behind!” But,  you see, that’s because I decided to follow Jesus and I was committed to whatever that meant, whatever He wanted me to do, I was willing. It was the best choice I ever made; willing to give everything up and in return, He has given me everything! Amen!

Jesus said “……If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)

Jesus will work through us and in us if we are willing to know Him well enough to Hear His heart and be constant in obeying His will. We must be willing to disadvantage ourselves if we are ever going to help the disadvantaged, which is guaranteed to turn out for our advantage. Entering into the loss of others will enrich our lives in Jesus. We must brake away from our life as we know it and become broken for the name of Jesus, go where hearts and lives are broken and show them through Christ all things can be made whole! And the King shall answear and say unto them, verily I say unto you, In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

Amen! I was just reading in John this morning,… as the disciples one by one were called and began to follow. As the song writer penned, “Where He leads me I will follow; I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.” Amen. Lord, lead me!
