‘Red Sandals’

‘Red Sandals’

The picture ‘Red Sandals’ was taken by my brother Charles back in 2010. It is still one of my favorite pictures all these years later. It speaks so loudly, without saying a word. “Red Sandals” humbles me. It reminds me of just how blessed America is. It tells me that there are those who are willing to show up for church no matter their circumstances. It makes me pause to consider whether something is actually a ‘need’ or just a ‘want’. It makes me feel so honored that the Lord would entrust me with these precious souls of Ecuador. “Red Sandals”, both the picture and the child, continue to touch my life greatly, even to this very day. I hope it moves you as deeply as it does me.
