This is just one of 7 beautiful tunnels that I have to drive through on my route to get to the capital city of Quito. It’s the way I go anytime I am flying to the States, or doing Ministry Trips in that area (which is what I was doing this day). This road was once very dangerous and unsafe. It was a dirt road, really made only as a 1 lane. And it was so close to the edge of the mountain that when 2 vehicles encountered each other, it was nearly impossible for them to pass. So, the tunnels were created to make it safer. They’re quite impressive. I love seeing how they carved into the beautiful natural rock in the mountain and I enjoy driving through the tunnels! It’s definitely a life of adventure in this beautiful country of Ecuador!
It’s about a six-hour drive from my home to Quito, with stunning views all along the way! Impressive Volcanoes, numerous amazing waterfalls, the 7 tunnels, and the majestic Andes Mountains which take your breath away! What a beautiful country I am Called to!!
