The Amazing Life of a Jungle Missionary

This precious family lives in a community called Vencedores (which means ‘Overcomers’! I love it!) and they’ve been attending my church in Puyo for a few months now. The walk to their home is about 15 minutes, crossing 2 rivers and traipsing through the stunning Amazon jungle, and then it’s about a 40 minute bus ride for them to get to church.

So, what a Blessing it was for me to be in their home recently teaching them more about Jesus. Their home is so beautiful with its raw wood cut by their own strength right from the jungle and the thatched roof woven with their very own hands! We had such a powerful move of God as we prayed over their home and worshipped the Lord together!

I also loved getting to meet their adorable pet, a capybara named “Dulce” (which means ‘sweet’) She is a 10-month old baby who loves to eat sugarcane. (She stole mine right from me! lol)! She will grow to be much bigger as the capybara are the largest living rodents in South America.

What an amazing life it is living for Jesus and being a jungle Missionary!
