Natural Disasters in Ecuador

The last week and a half has been very active with multiple natural disasters in Ecuador. Volcano Sangay (the one nearest to me) has erupted again; we have had flooding in numerous areas and massive mudslides. The main road to get in and out of Puyo, as well as several of the roads getting to my churches, have been completely impassable.

Sadly, there has also been loss of life, with the current death toll at 19, and around 30 still missing. I Praise the Lord that all of my people are physically safe and accounted for. However, some families homes have been flooded with them losing what little they did have.

The most serious of the disasters was an enormous mudslide that happened on the main road that arrives to Puyo. Authorities are working feverishly to get everything cleaned up. For nearly a week now, only gas and food trucks have been allowed to pass for 1 hour each day to get much needed supplies to all of us. Today they will be given a 3 hour window.

Please keep Ecuador and our precious people in your prayers as the Lord continues to watch over, provide and protect them!
