For safety reasons I have to use much wisdom in what I post on Facebook and how I respond to comments. But I wanted to share this recent Blessing with everyone and how it came about. This beautiful, solid, secure cement water tank for our outhouse at one of my jungle churches is a gift from the Lord!
Like so many Missionaries in countries all over the world, all of my Churches and my home have been robbed multiple times. We take every precaution we can, but it is still something we face on a regular basis. Protective bars on the windows is a requirement, but even those are not always enough, as thieves will cut right through the bars and come on in. Only a few weeks ago while working in my home office, I came face to face with someone that climbed a tree, scaled a fence, landed on my roof and tried to come in the window. Thankfully, he ran when I confronted him and called on the Name of Jesus!! It wasn’t the first time this has happened and probably won’t be the last.
However, what was a first was someone stealing our very ‘valuable to us’ plastic 55-gallon rain barrel that we used for the outhouse at one of our jungle churches. They even damaged our front gate getting it out. So after talking with Dad and Charles (who was also robbed multiple times when he lived here) they had a great idea! So I had a local contractor come out and build us this wonderful, heavy duty, cement water tank that cannot be stolen!
No matter where you are in the world, you will face challenges. Mine here on this Mission Field just look a little different than some other places. But also, no matter where we are, Jesus is our Protector. He is a very present help in the time of trouble. And what a comfort that is to know! And He is always faithful, because our new water tank will not only serve the bathroom, but will also double as a baptismal! See how good God is?!
