I guess it may seem strange to some, but when I hear people say “I am so ready for the Lord to come back, I wish He’d come tomorrow,” my heart just breaks. Oh, don’t misunderstand me. I certainly long for the day when I finally see the One I’ve loved all these years and behold Him face to face! And wow, I’ll get to spend all eternity Praising Him! It’s exactly what I am striving for! But the burden I carry is because I know that there are still so many who have never heard His Word!! There are still so many unreached tribes and peoples, not only on my Mission Field in Ecuador, but all over the world!!
My anointed Mom and siblings sing a beautiful, old song that always makes me weep, for its words are quite the opposite and its plea is different. It says, “Wait a little longer, please Jesus, There are so many wandering out in sin.” That’s the song I’m singing today, as I look out at a lost and dying world, walking in darkness, stumbling along the way, searching for that marvelous light that only comes from Jesus.
And so for now, I pray that He might hear the cry of that song; yet at the same time, I will make haste and I will work while it is day, remaining steadfast to get the message of salvation to as many as I can. But knowing that the harvest is plenty, my heart will continue to “…Pray ye therefore that the Lord of the harvest that He will send labourers into His harvest” Matthew 9:38
And I will hold on to the hope of the final words of that same song. It says, “Just a few more days, Lord, to get our loved ones in.”
